Our Keto Journey - Day 7

Day 7-

Officially one week into our diet and things are still going well.
Peter and I from 5 years ago

I did manage to get up early and take Lexi on a walk. It was already getting pretty warm, but we walked down to the park and back and the walk includes a pretty decent hill to climb down and up so that helps adds to the intensity of the walk. Our walk was only about 35 minutes, Lexi was looking pretty hot and tired so we came home and we both jumped into the pool where I did some swimming and water jogging for another 15 minutes.  I am trying to make sure I mix up my workout routines so I keep moving but I don’t get too bored.

I realized I haven’t been using my fitbit and that might be a good way to encourage more exercise so I found it got it charged up today and put it on. Burning more calories means losing more weight. I wish I had it on during my walk so I would have known how far we walked, but if we keep getting storms the morning should be cool enough for more walks in the future and I can check my steps and distance then.

I only had some coffee for breakfast.  For Lunch I made myself a yummy lettuce & turkey wrap with some feta cheese and a little bit of ranch dressing.  I rolled it up like a burrito and it was fantastic. I also had some cucumber with it.

After Peter came home we did some cooking together.   Peter had some chicken that we cooked in a pan with some beautiful peppers, and I made myself some shrimp scampi using some frozen shrimp I had gotten and some fresh garlic.  I made some more of that pan-fried cauliflower rice to go with our meal and Peter loved it. He said “Oh my god, this is delicious, lets go get more of this, can we go to Costco and get like a 50 pound bag” Yeah I’m pretty sure he liked it.

I know it is hard to restrict carbs, but there are so many great food choices without using a bunch of carbs.  I felt so good about how well we were doing that I even splurged on a glass of red wine, which I found out only has 3.8 carbs. Yeah!

One full week and we are still on track!

  1. I'm not on the Keto diet, instead doing the new freestyle from WW. I thought I wouldn't be able to restrict my carbs, but I've been surprised.

    1. Thanks Jennifer, I agree it has actually been easier than I thought it might be. Good luck with your diet!
