Our Keto Journey - Day 15

Day 15 –

We have noticed something interesting happening, both Peter and I are eating less.  We are eating less and not feeling hungry.

After a morning coffee, Peter made bacon and eggs for us. We ate around 10:00 and this actually kept me full until having a snack of some almonds in the afternoon.  I had a meeting in the evening so I basically skipped dinner and I honestly did not feel hungry. I came home and had a couple cheese sticks and Peter and I both had an Atkins peanut butter cup candy while watching TV.

I really wish there were some better low carb options for breakfast. Right now our only choice has been eggs.  I am going to do some research to find some other breakfast choices. There are so many great options for lunch and dinner, and I feel really good about the snack choices we have been using like almonds, pecans, beef jerky, cheese sticks and those cheese crisps.  Even those silly Atkins fake candies are great when we really want a goodie (although they are not truly Keto, the Atkins diet is much higher in protein).

I have been really consistent making it to the YMCA at least every other day. The mornings have been hotter this past week, so I can’t do any walks with Lexi right now.

I think this is one of the really challenging times in our diet because the newness has worn off and we have to buckle down and continue to stay on track.  I really struggle with monotony so I need to spend some time getting creative and finding new and interesting food options that are Keto friendly.

Another challenge for me has been the personal commitment I made to write this blog each day.  I decided to write this in the hopes that I can encourage other people who might be considering this diet, and so that I can honestly share how things are going for us. It is hard to always find the time to get each daily post written and shared online. I want to continue to blog daily at least for the first month of our diet, but hopefully I can continue to share our story for as long as we stay on Keto.  I want to make sure I am not getting boring and just repeating my daily food diary, but that I am actually sharing useful information.

As we enter our third week of dieting I am feeling encouraged, and I have every confidence we will keep going.
